This is my finished texture map in Photoshop, I began messing around with the different effects on the layers to try different things which I think helped. And the image at the top is the finished model, and base with textures in UDK. It's no where near as good as it could be, but i'm pretty happy with the final result. It looks like an excavator so all is good.

Base UV's
These are the UV's for my diorama base, I got them all on to one texture map before realising we could use up to 4 512 textures. I think they're fine and the textures on the base i'm happy with. I think next time I have to split them up a little more in order to make the textures more detailed and just spend longer working on them.

Vehicle Screen shot
This is a screen shot of my vehicle with some of the basic textures on it, and also the alpha planes which i have since added to the vehicle. I'm still working on the textures but this is it so far. I'm trying to concentrate on the bits the player is more likely to focus on. I'm just happy to have it look like this instead of it being completely blank. I know that there is SO much still left to do on it but at least it's something.
Diorama Sketch
This is my initial sketch for the actual diorama, i didn't want a typical 'here's my vehicle in the middle of the street' type diorama, i wanted it to look like it was doing something, like the dioramas on Batman, sort of. This is also influenced by the models that i paint when i try to make a base for them to make it look more interesting. So more of a scene than a static....thing. Obviously it won't look exactly like this but something similar is what i'm aiming for.
Vehicle UVs
The image at the top shows the UV's from my vehicle, all unwrapped and ready to texture. The image underneath shows the basic colour blockout for the most important parts, the bits that will be at the players eye sight. The size of my vehicle means that when the textures are put on the model they're all very low resolution so many of the textures have been painted on. However, even the painted textures are still quite low resolution. This part isn't so bad but the UVs just don't stop, when i think i've done a block out for everything, i find more. Originally i had a texture on my track but got told it looked pretty bad i hand drew the textures which i like much more now.
Basic Blockout
This is the rather crude drawing from the side of my vehicle, i did do one from the front and the other side but i can't find the images anywhere. I used this to get the initial block out of the vehicle done, and then i went back to my photos in order to get some of the other details.
