This is my finished texture map in Photoshop, I began messing around with the different effects on the layers to try different things which I think helped. And the image at the top is the finished model, and base with textures in UDK. It's no where near as good as it could be, but i'm pretty happy with the final result. It looks like an excavator so all is good.

These are some screen shots of how the vehicle started and finished in Maya in terms of texture. The bottom image is what the finished textures looked like on the model.

This an image of the decals that I used around the side of the vehicle, I did try to paint them on to the texture but it looked really bad, the hardest thing to try and recreate was the mesh texture, but on the model I think they look fine.

These are the texture maps I used for the base. I think the dirt and the ground texture look fine but i'd like to practice more with tileable textures like the brick work in order to make it look more believable.

Base UV's

These are the UV's for my diorama base, I got them all on to one texture map before realising we could use up to 4 512 textures. I think they're fine and the textures on the base i'm happy with. I think next time I have to split them up a little more in order to make the textures more detailed and just spend longer working on them.

Vehicle Screen shot

This is a screen shot of my vehicle with some of the basic textures on it, and also the alpha planes which i have since added to the vehicle. I'm still working on the textures but this is it so far. I'm trying to concentrate on the bits the player is more likely to focus on. I'm just happy to have it look like this instead of it being completely blank. I know that there is SO much still left to do on it but at least it's something.
